  • Mind Over Matter.

Being the Mental Health Awareness month, I thought this would be a vital topic of discussion. Considering the negative circumstances surrounding the World, the mind is such a powerful tool; it can be destructive. Hence, it is important we always tilt our thoughts towards perpetual positivity.

As long as blood flows through the veins, every single person goes THROUGH IT ALL. Coming in form of depression, anxiety; the feeling of heart-racing, throat crunching, and the likes. Ironically, People may try so hard to mask these effects with ‘happy’. Do not be fooled, it actually runs deeper than what meets the eye.

Matters arising from PTSD, ‘people problems’. losses. a fugazi, or whatever is enough to make individuals highly conflicted, or even act deranged, thereby creating illusions. The overwhelming torture of feeling helpless, rejected or unloved is entirely inexplicable. Internal pain surpasses that of the external. Premature deaths or sudden terminal illnesses emerge quite often. Certainly, stress could kill faster than stray bullets, and this is the case for a whole lot of Humans out there.

Unfortunately, so many choose to ‘die in silence’ simply because they may not want to appear toxic or as ‘outcasts’. Others opt to remain in solitude until they are healed. However, telling our stories always makes a difference, and creates awareness. We begin to appreciate people when we hear their AWFUL lifetime events, and the ultimate strength they posses. It is a beautiful source of encouragement.

Picking up vices as a means of escape, running to that loved one or therapist for ‘antidepressants’ don’t do the trick, the mind does. We reflect what we think. Although saying a prayer is an antidote, we must also train our minds into thinking right. Faith without works is nonsense.

Accommodating the people who genuinely love, appreciate, and are willing to see through us elevates our mindset. We must constantly remind ourselves that our backgrounds, scars and flaws do not define who we are. Bet, your ‘scarred self’ is such a blessing to the next person.

Pain is inevitable, but not to be held unto. Absolutely nothing is worth the suicidal thoughts, profuse aging, or excessive weight loss. Life is temporary, and we should live everyday like it is our last. We do the best, and leave the rest.

I urge you all, as well as myself to let go of the past traumas, mistakes, or even present quagmires. The future has so much more and better to offer. What we see and hear matter -so, pursue peace!

Believe me, if you sincerely need a life transformation, you MUST renew your mind.
