  • “A Purpose Driven Life”?

Purpose is simply the limit of our vision and innermost satisfaction”

Experiencing minimal writer’s block, I suddenly came up with today’s topic I believe would make some sense to every individual. For those unaware, “A Purpose Driven Life” is a book written by Rick Warren. However, I decided to add a twist to the plot for the excitement, and non-piracy.

The notion of being “purpose driven”, stems from the Biblical perspective. That is to say, God’s plans; more His like precepts for us to get to our end goal. Nevertheless, there are common questions like “what really is my purpose?” Personally, I had my days when I’ll stare into space aimlessly, seeking answers I could not get at that moment. For what it’s worth, I came to the conclusion that my purpose, and everyone elses’, is a place of fulfillment and contentment.

Philosophically, the concepts of Identity”, “Source”, “Potential”, and “Destiny” play a radical role together with finding our purpose. More so, with the way the World is currently programmed, the insurmountable pressure in “achieving”, defines purpose. This is certainly where I beg to differ. For me, Passion & Purpose go hand-in-hand. Quarterly and even the Middle aged people contradict this fact by going in circles, toiling in futility, indulging in self sabotage, all because they want “Purpose”, and in a hurry too! Well, can’t deny I’ve been here one too many times.

If you can’t figure out your purpose, figure out your passion. For your passion will lead you right into your purpose”

    -Bishop T.D. Jakes.

I get a little smitten when I hear a late twenty something year old nag about their potential without purpose. To be fair, with potential and Vision, there is purpose. The less we see purpose as some “grand occurrence”, the most likely we are to achieving it. God never minced words when he said his plans for us were for that of good. I realized it was only a matter of time.

The term “it’s the little things” has so much meaning attached to it. One thing we omit in achieving purpose is making an Impact to whatever extent. It could be embracing family always, maintaining healthy friendships & relationships, service to the common man or aristocrats, a successful career, even being a martyr! It goes on and on. Purpose is simply the limit of our vision and innermost satisfaction. The capacity, age, and time do not count.

“What if I never get to my destiny or where I am destined to be before my timely exit ?” A rhetorical question, as well as a regular discrepancy. Because of Faith perspective, I believe our Greatest purpose is walking in the Way & Light of Christ in every way. A lot of us are ignorant about this, but really? It is what it is.

Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to be agreeable with His, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.”

    Proverbs 16:3 AMPC.

We are all hopeful to find what makes us burn, what brings us joy, and ultimate satisfaction. I certainly believe we all will.

    With Love xo.
